Will You Snail?

Will You Snail is a precision platformer where you have to parkour your way out of a simulation, while Squid, an Evil AI, tries to kill you. It's quite short, but it has a lot of soul and is very entertaining. The story of WYS is also very interesting - it raises a lot of questions about AI, sentience and reality itself.

I think I remember watching some videos about it back when it came out, but I wasn't interested enough to play it. But one day I rediscovered it, and fell in love! I watched some of Jonas' (the developer's) devlogs, but I decided to play through the game before I watched the more spoilery videos.

What I Love

You play as a blue snail named Shelly, I think she's adorable! Once you find a secret room, you can give her some hats! My favorite is the snail hat. It just looks so cute and silly seeing a snail riding another snail!! :3

Squid is my favorite, he's just such a fun character. His design is simple but very expressive, and his voice has this very cool robotic effect. He acts like he is super evil, and, well, he is, but he also seems to care about his robot friends (like MR D.A.N.C.E, Mama Squid, Baby Squid, Helpy...). Also, his backstroy is pretty tragic, but I won't talk about it here cus it's super spoilery.

The soundtrack, 99% of it made by Jonas, is amazing! I love every song, but my favourites have to be Disco of Doom, Helpy Loves You and Artificial Joy. The credits song, Hello AI, is also one of my favorites! :D

Speedrunning

I got into speedrunning this game to get the "Speedrun" achivement. For it you have to reach the ending in under 30 minutes. I initially just tried playing the game on the easiest dificulty and rushing the levels, and I actually got pretty close! I decide to look up some speedruns on YouTube to see what other people did, so that I could do the same.

When I finally got the achievement I was so happy :D I still have the screenshot!
